چکیده

The widespread use in urological practice of biological and artificial materials, on the surface which bacterial biofilms form, increases risk pathogen persistence human body. Nowaday, there is an acute problem catheter-associated urinary tract infections (САUTI), are most commonly caused by uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains, either monoculture as part polymicrobial associations with fecal microbiota. Bacterial adhesion colonization catheter determined, one hand, nature polymeric material, and, other a set fimbrial afimbrial adhesins, well outer membrane proteins pathogens. Attachment bacteria to cells biotopes also mediated various adhesins important pathogenesis CAUTI. Optimal conditions for horizontal gene transfer (HGT), numerous virulence- associated antibiotic resistance factors through conjugation mobilization created adhered microbial communities. At same time, conjugative can introduce additional dynamics into biofilm formation due increased expression sex pili needed plasmid transfer. As implementation scientific projects, genetic profiles strains E. were studied, their relationship was assessed, considering type effect some antibacterial drugs urethral catheters determined. In addition, frequency F-plasmid transmission plankton studied depending properties recipient strains: phylogenetic group, biofilm-forming ability, lysogeny, bacteriocin production, sensitivity. data obtained will contribute better understanding mechanisms intraspecific interaction biofilms, allow us identify features patterns UPEC

The ability of uropathogenic Escherichia coli isolates in biofilm formation on urinary catheter and association with bcsA and draE genes

The product biofilm by E.coli strain can cause serious problem for human health. Catheter is considered to be s suitable place for colonization of microorganisms, so that in %5-10 of patients who used catheter for only one day and also in all patients who used it for over 28 days, this colonization of bacteria is observed on catheter. This study is come out in order to compare biofilm formation...

Detection and Phylogenetic Characterization of Virulence Genes of Escherichia coli Associated with Canine Urinary Tract Infections in India

BACKGROUND: Escherichia coli (E.coli) is one of the most common and important causative bacterium of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in both dogs and humans. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to identify virulence genes and a phylogenetic group of E. coli isolated from the urine of dogs suffering from UTIs. METHODS: <em...

Plasma surface modification as a new approach to protect urinary catheter against Escherichia coli biofilm formation

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Biomaterials are widely used in medical devices such as urinary catheters. One of the main problems associated with long term using of the urinary catheters is biofilm formation on their surfaces. Many techniques have been presented to reduce the biofilm formation. One of the most revolutionary techniques allowing such surface fictionalization is plasma surface modific...

Prevention of Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections

Urinary catheter placement is an extremely common medical intervention. It can be used either temporarily, for example to drain a full bladder, to monitor urine output or it can be indwelling for long term drainage. While urinary catheters are a safe medical practice, complications can and do arise from their use and can be a source of morbidity for hospital or nursing home residents. The term ...
